BMW Steps into the Future with Laser Headlights

BMW 's new model lineup features some of the most advanced vehicles in the world. No one can deny this. The slew of technological features that make BMW models like the BMW 335i and BMW 550i so advanced are always being worked on... improved upon so to speak. One prime example of this is a new feature that BMW is planning to roll out in their future models: laser headlights.

Yes, that's right lasers. We here at Sunbelt BMW aren't talking about mounting deadly laser guns, but rather the follow up technology to LED headlights, which had us in awe not too long ago. LED headlights were bright, energy efficient, and stylish, but as the saying goes, there is always room for improvement.

Even the most prestigious effects of using LED headlamps pale in comparison to the benefits that using BMW's new laser-cut design. The newly designed tech surpasses LED technology by light years (yes, that pun was intentional). They are, in fact, 1,000 times stronger than LED headlamps, and what's more, they consume roughly half the energy.

As futuristic as this new tech sounds, we have to wonder they would perform in some of the new BMW models that we feature on our lot at 2000 Highway 39 N Meridian, MS 39301? Of course, if you want to do a little speculating of your own, why not take the new BMW you've been eyeing for a test drive? To arrange a test drive, feel free to either call (601) 483-8131 or to submit a contact form online.

Light emitted from the lasers, employed in BMW's laser-cut headlamps, will be made benign by carefully placing a conversion filter over them. This way, oncoming drivers will only see it as a bright and white color... no harm done to their vision.

At the moment, there is no ETA on when this new, exciting technology is set to debut. We know that the new headlamps are set to be featured in the BMW i8 plug-in electric hybrid concept.
