Attn: BMW Drivers Who Use Android

The time has finally come....BMW has successfully launched an Android-compatible variant of their My BMW Remote App. Time to rejoice?  Sunbelt BMW thinks so.

BMW, as you might remember, was the first automaker to inaugurate iPod functionality within their cars and to also fully commit to iPhone integration. That said. When the Bavarian automaker first launched My BMW Remote App, it was accessible only via the iPhone, leaving a large population of Android users out of fun - or should we say convenience.

When BMW launched the iPhone variant of My BMW Remote, they promised Android was part of the equation and the day would soon come when My BMW Remote App could be used on Google's open source operating systems. As time quickly marched on, more than a few drivers were wondering: Will it ever, really happen?

Sunbelt BMW, serving the greater Meridian area, is a little dubious of such skepticism. For, when has BMW ever failed to make good on a promise?

Similar to the iPhone-compatible My BMW Remote App, the Android-compatible My BMW Remote App offers drivers a handful of convenience features covered under drivers' BMW Assist contracts. Among other things, this includes: remote climate control (perfect for those exceptionally blustery or sweltering days) and remote access to horn and lights (ideal for finding your car in a crowded parking lot or sending off a distress signal).

In addition to the many other features the Android-compatible My BMW Remote App shares with its iPhone counterpart; it also gains Google Local Search. This added benny allows drivers to send points of interest to the car without having to enter it through the navigation system. When the highly-anticipated BMW ActiveE arrives next year, the Android-based My BMW Remote App will also include charge status.

To download My BMW Remote now, simply visit the iTunes store. If you have any questions about the app, please don't hesitate to contact us today. Or, swing by Sunbelt BMW in Meridian and chat with us in person.
